The Singer Original 2045 Gold Sewing Machine Needles are premium, ball-point needles engineered specifically for knit, stretch, and elastic fabrics. The rounded tip glides safely between fabric loops instead of piercing the threads, preventing snags, runs, and holes. Covered in a specialized low-friction coating, each 10-piece pack ensures smooth stitch consistency for domestic sewing machines.

3 Failure Possibilities
  • Bent Shaft: Pulling fabric tightly while sewing forces the needle to flex and bend out of shape.
  • Blunt/Dull Tip: Constant friction against fabric dense fibers wears down the ball point over time.
  • Burred/Damaged Eye: Low-quality threads or heavy friction can create microscopic, sharp burrs inside the needle eye.
Recommended Replacement Frequency Replace your needle after 8 hours of active sewing time or at the start of every major project. Dull needles overwork your machine motor and damage delicate knit fabrics. Needle Replacement Methods
  1. Turn off power to your sewing machine for safety.
  2. Lower the presser foot and turn the handwheel toward you to raise the needle bar to its highest point.
  3. Loosen the needle clamp screw using a small screwdriver or your fingers while holding the old needle.
  4. Pull the needle straight down and remove it from the clamp.
  5. Insert the new needle with the flat side facing away from the direction of the thread entry to the Needle Eye.
  6. Push it up completely until it hits the internal stop pin.
  7. Tighten the clamp screw securely to keep the needle from shaking loose.
  8. For general sewing flexibility, buy two 10-piece packs split across these essential sizes:
    • Size 75/11: Pick 1 pack for lightweight knits, t-shirt jerseys, and delicate silks.
    • Size 90/14: Pick 1 pack for medium-weight fabrics, French terry, fleece, and everyday cotton blends.
