When using self-adhesive embroidery backing, spray adhesive, or sewing self-adhesive hook-and-loop tape, adhesive residue on the needle is a common problem.

The new Schmetz Super Universal Needle effectively eliminates this issue by bringing industrial-grade performance to household sewing machines. Its standout feature is a specially developed smooth non-stick coating, which significantly reduces adhesive buildup on the needle. This prevents needle sticking, ensures smoother stitching, and helps minimize thread breakage.

Performance is further enhanced by the extra-large needle eye, making it especially suitable for embroidery work. The eye is equivalent to that of a needle two NM sizes larger. For example, a NM 70 Super Universal Needle has an eye size similar to a standard NM 90 needle.

The slightly rounded point allows the needle to glide smoothly through a wide variety of materials, while the special blade design reduces needle breakage and skipped stitches. Even thick fabrics such as denim are handled with ease.

A sewing machine needle can have a life expectancy ranging from one minute to one month, depending on usage and handling.

It is strongly recommended to insert a new needle at the start of every project or after approximately eight hours of sewing. Always replace the needle immediately if it becomes bent, dull, or develops a burr.
