High Speed 1600 SPM

1,600 stitches per minute make the HD9 the fastest home-use machine on the market. With nearly 9" x 6" to the right of the needle, the HD9 has an extra-wide work area. The HD9’s speed, size and a side-loading bobbin, make for a great machine to put into a quilt frame

Six LED Lights

The six Ultra Bright LED lamps are everything you need for a shadow-free workspace. Two LEDs are placed around the needle bar to give direct light in the needle area and the four LEDs illuminate the bed area.
Heavy Weight Thread Guide

Janome developed the Heavy Weight Thread Guide with Variable tension adjustment for better thread and stitch control for all weights of thread. The HWTG Stabilizes thread tension when sewing through thick fabrics like leather, cork or other heavy duty fabrics.

1.4X Larger Bobbin

The side-loading Jumbo Bobbin holds 40% more thread than normal bobbins. The all-metal bobbin case and hook rotate a full 360°, resulting in precise and dependable stitching.
Built Strong with Eight Ball Bearings

The words durable, quiet and smooth are synonymous with Janome. This is made possible in the HD9 by engineering the machine with eight enclosed ball bearings contained in the main shaft of the machine. Ball bearings may have not been at the top of your list of necessary features, but it will end up being your favorite after sewing on the HD9 and experiencing how it feels.
Independent Bobbin Winding Motor
With an independent bobbin motor, there is no need to stop your sewing. Set up your bobbin, push the Bobbin Winding button and keep sewing your seams while the machine simultaneously winds your bobbin.
Automatic Thread Cutter

The HD9 is a perfect blend of industrial strength and speed, but provides some of the “softer” features of home use machines. The Automatic Thread Cutter is one of these features. When sewing with average weights of thread, automatic thread cutting can be accessed via the thread cutter button or the remote thread cutter - making the end of each seam that much easier to finish.
Streamlined Design

The seamless, heavy-duty, powder-coated, all-metal flatbed of the HD9 offers an uninterrupted, large bed area of 12.25 inches (311mm) x 7" (178mm) to accomodate even the largest of projects. Couple this enhanced work space with the improved closed bed design thats eliminated the need for lubrication holes, a feature unique to Janome, for a streamlined machine providing a cleaner workspace and keeping your fabric pristine.
