The Throat Plate Asm (Part Number: A11153340B0A) is a critical genuine replacement component for Juki and Bernette portable serger/overlock machines. It provides the essential metal surface for fabric support and ensures precise needle alignment for 4-thread overlock stitching. This is usually the failure portion, the remaining Retractable Finger are retrieved from the older Needle Plate.

Description and Compatibility

This assembly is primarily designed for the Juki MO-734DE but maintains broad compatibility with several other models:
  • Juki MO Series: MO-334, MO-334DS, MO-634, MO-634D/DE, MO-644D, and MO-654D/DE.
  • Bernette Models: 004, 004D, 006D, 007D, 700D, 800D, 800DL, 1100D, and 1200MDA.

Failure Instances

Common signs that the plate needs replacement include:
  • Needle Strikes: Impacts from bent needles create sharp burrs that snag fabric or break thread.
  • Fabric Ingestion: A worn or enlarged needle hole can cause lightweight fabrics to be pulled down into the feed dogs.
  • Mechanical Wear: Heavy use with dense materials like denim can warp the plate or cause visible scratches that degrade stitch quality.
  • Feed Obstruction: Lint and debris buildup underneath the plate can prevent it from seating correctly, leading to uneven feeding.

Replacement Procedure

  1. Safety First: Power off and unplug the machine.
  2. Clear Access: Remove the presser foot and needle(s) to avoid obstruction.
  3. Removal: Use a small screwdriver to loosen and remove the two securing screws.
  4. Cleaning: Thoroughly brush away lint from the feed dog area before installing the new part.
  5. Installation: Align the new A11153340B0A plate, ensuring it snaps firmly into position without gaps.
  6. Securing: Reinsert and tighten the screws. Rotate the handwheel manually to verify the needle clears the plate before resuming sewing.
